Acuoscope diagnosis
Acuoscope is an instrument which records resistance levels and audio frequency levels of the skin at the sight of the acupuncture points aiding in diagnosing ailments or diseases even well in advance. This diagnostic tool therefore can provide advance information about the approaching illness, prevent its manifestation or diagnose the cause of a particular ailment the patient is currently suffering from. Acuoscope is also called Acupuncture Point Detector (APD).
There are imaginary lines running over the body called meridians representing various organs of the body (refer "Acupuncture"). Along the line of these meridians lie the various acupuncture points. When a diseased condition manifests at any body part or organ, the representing referred acupuncture point gets sensitive. This Referred Sensitive Point (RSP) is also known as Trigger Point (TP). The sensitivity is due to the inflammatory condition at the point. The resistance level at the site of the Sensitive Trigger Point goes low. A person will experience excessive pain upon exerting pressure over these points. The intensity of pain will indicate the vehemence of the affectation at the corresponding organs of the body or its parts. Moving the probe of Acuoscope will record higher deflections and audio frequency sounds as compared to the surrounding areas. The analysis of higher deflections with respect to the levels of audio frequencies indicate the type and the intensity of an ailment.

Pressure over the sensitive alarm points will produce pain pointing to the diagnosis. However some points though are sensitive are difficult to detect manually and require sophisticated equipment called Acuoscope. See "Acuoscope".
Aura Diagnosis
Examining the aura of a person for the detection and treatment of disorders
and diseases, dates back to centuries. Very few people are gifted with the
ability to see Aura with a naked eye without learning. Learning the technique
of seeing aura with a naked eye in not impossible though difficult. Zeal and
perseverance leads to success in this endeavour.
All animated objects contain a magnetic field around its physical body called the Aura and so is the case with the human beings. Iridology
Iridology is a Science, founded by Dr. Ignatz von Peczely of Egervar near Budapest Hungary, who discovered "Nature's Record" in the eye by accident when he was only 10 years old. He published his first book on the iris in 1866. This science was introduced in America by Dr. Bernard Jensen and therefore he is considered to be the Father of Iridology in America.
The signs and markings in the iris of the eye (colored portion) are imprints of the ailments and diseases destined by the parts and organs of the body. By mapping the signs and markings of ones iris on an iridology chart, one can be clear about where the susceptibility to the disorders lies.
"Nerve Rings" on the iris indicate the affections of the nervous system. "Cholesterol ring", indicate rise in lipid levels and possible arteriosclerosis or clogging of arteries. The building up of toxins in the stomach and colon can be detected. Early specific changes in the iris can indicate serious illnesses like the cancerous affection even five years prior to its occurrence.
It is easier to detect these defects in light-eyed individuals, but were difficult in the dark-eyed. Now the availability of the specialised iridology cameras and other equipment has made diagnosis more accurate in all the types of irises. This praiseworthy diagnostic tool is fast gaining acceptance all around the globe.
Medical Astrology
Human mind and the body are influenced by the influences from the cosmos. High tide and low tide occurs due to the influence of the moon and it is observed that during that time blood pressure increases or decreases. During high tide if injury occurs, blood flows for a longer period of time or is more difficult to control. Like wise similar influences are seen over the mental behavioural pattern of a person. Some can even predict the actual date and time of death of a given individual. The practitioners Modern Medicine despised this ancient science as quackery and thus it submerged into near oblivion.

It is obvious now that this science like the Medical Astrology will attain its rightful place in the field of diagnostics in the near future and will be seriously considered as an important diagnostic tool in the posterity.
Mental examination
Likes and dislikes, emotional set-up, cravings, mannerisms, attitudes, temperaments, behavioural patterns, etc. give a guideline for different sicknesses. i.e. a diabetic will get quickly irritated or may be absent minded.
It may also give clues to various susceptibilities due to defective behavioural patterns i.e. easily angered persons may be susceptible to diabetes, high blood pressure or a heart ailment, etc.
Physical examination
The cause of the ailments or diseases can be effectively detected by simple physical examination. The physical examination includes examining the skin for its dryness, oiliness, chapped and fissured appearance, the colour of the skin particularly yellowness indicating hepatitis or obstructive jaundice, the way the patient walks, talks, his mannerisms his likes and dislikes, swellings and oedemas and its locations, pains, etc. various fungal, bacterial and viral infections appearing on the skin can easily be diagnosed.
Pulse diagnosis
Ancient Indian doctors relied extensively on the pulse diagnosis to determine or predict disorders or diseases. These intellectual sages of ancient India have left behind exhaustive data about the procedures and techniques for the unique diagnostic technique. Radial pulsations are primarily considered for the purpose of diagnosis. Character of the pulse is studied sometimes even for an hour to analyse all its aspects to arrive to a correct diagnosis. In contrast the Modern Medicine only look for the rate, rhythm, tension, volume etc. of the pulse leading to the diagnosis of a very few ailments.
Chinese medicine also emphasises pulse diagnosis to determine
the nature and root of a disorder and only then treatment is prescribed to
the patient. The Chinese Acupuncturists diagnose twelve pulse types, each
related to a particular meridian. Pulse diagnosis is believed to have originated
in India and was taken to China by the Buddhist monks while on their religious
mission.
In Ayurveda diagnosis is made on the basis of Tridoshas i.e. the Vata, Pitta
and Kapha. (Refer "Ayurveda" for details. An experienced practitioner
is said to even predict the date and the time of death of a person.
Radiesthesia
Founded by a Swiss priest Abbé Mermet, at the end of the nineteenth century. This technique uses similar super natural forces that the Dowser uses to divine water to identify and treat diseases. This surprising phenomenon is not fully understood till date but is believed to have spiritual or psychic dimensions and has a very promising future.
All living beings possesses natural subtle healing forces which radiate out of their bodies. This forces are though not visible to the naked eye, some are naturally gifted to see them in the form of Auras (See "Aura Therapy"). Kirlian photography cameras now available enables any body to photograph these forces and observe changes during and after treatment. It is believed to be possible to determine some diseases before they are physically obvious.
Radiesthdesia and Radionics (See "Radionics") may be among a range of diagnostic techniques being used by some practitioners of Alternative Medicines.

Tongue Diagnosis
Certain ailments and diseases make the appearance of the tongue to change. Like in indigestion the tongue is white and thickly coated. There are various other variations like the flabby tongue, the glossy tongue, furry tongue etc. indicating different disorders or diseases. A white tongue with a yellow or creamy-yellow appearance at the base of the tongue indicates acute liver disorder. It is possible to detect certain impending ailments and diseases in advance by a careful examination of the tongue. Tongue diagnosis had a lot of significance in the past when effective diagnostic aids were not available but in recent times its advantages were neglected by the Modern Medicine.
Ancient Indian doctors and the Chinese doctors gave a lot of consideration to tongue diagnosis. The traditional Chinese practitioners examine a patients tongue to gauge the health of the other parts and organs of the body. Each area of the tongue corresponds to a certain organ or part of the body enabling a detailed diagnosis to be made.
Today, once again tongue diagnosis is seriously considered as an important aid in diagnosing and confirming the diagnosis of certain diseases.
